This season hasn't been kind to the Piedmont Academy Cougars, who are still winless after their 18th game. They took a 68-49 bruising from Westminster Christian Academy on Thursday. Piedmont Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Westminster Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Corbett Crews, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Chase Taylor, who scored 20 points.
Piedmont Academy dropped their record down to 0-18 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Westminster Christian Academy, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13.
Piedmont Academy will take on Brentwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westminster Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Augusta Prep Day at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Augusta Prep Day will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
