Even though Rise Kohyang has not done well against Animo De La Hoya recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Rise Kohyang came out on top against Animo De La Hoya by a score of 39-30. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Rise Kohyang has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles Leadership Academy came up short against Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus on Friday and fell 35-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Los Angeles Leadership Academy has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Adam Hernandez, who scored eight points along with two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Gonzalez, who scored four points along with three steals.
Los Angeles Leadership Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Rise Kohyang and bumps their season record up to 4-7. As for Los Angeles Leadership Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
Rise Kohyang came up short against Los Angeles Leadership Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 41-32. Can Rise Kohyang avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
