The Prattville Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2023 than the 59-21 stomp they got on the road against Walton. Given Prattville's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 39th in Alabama, while Walton is ranked 328th in Florida), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Walton still got an impressive performance from Sophia Parker, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Prattville's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Walton, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Prattville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Percy Julian at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2024. Walton will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Pensacola on December 29th. Pensacola will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
