The Whale Branch Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their ninth straight loss. They suffered a rough 59-33 loss at the hands of Hampton County. Whale Branch has not had much luck with Hampton County recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Whale Branch still got an impressive performance from Kailey Pusha-weeks, who scored two points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Desiree Jenkins, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Whale Branch's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-12. As for Hampton County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whale Branch will face off against Branchville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Branchville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Hampton County, they will head out on the road to take on Hilton Head Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
