The Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions will square off against the Gulliver Prep Raiders at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Immaculata-La Salle is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.
Immaculata-La Salle will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Mater Bay Academy on Tuesday. Immaculata-La Salle put the hurt on Mater Bay Academy with a sharp 15-4 victory. Considering the Royal Lions have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brandon Nu?ez was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base. He is becoming a predictor of Immaculata-La Salle's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Jonny Quintana was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Jeremy Fornos was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Gulliver Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of NSU University. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.
Gulliver Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Cherne, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Luis Flores also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Immaculata-La Salle is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. Gulliver Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Gulliver Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Immaculata-La Salle hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having got 0 of their hits per game. It's a different story for Gulliver Prep, though, as they've only got 0 of their hits this season. Will they be able to contain Immaculata-La Salle's hitters?
Immaculata-La Salle might still be hurting after the 13-1 defeat they got from Gulliver Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can Immaculata-La Salle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
