Legacy is 4-0 against the Vikings since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Legacy Longhorns will head out on the road to challenge the Valley Vikings at 6:30 p.m. Legacy will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Legacy can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Southeast Career Tech 58-23 at home. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Legacy had established a 29 point advantage.
Legacy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alabama Nieves, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Nieves is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaleese Mckenzie, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-27, which was the final score in Valley's tilt against the Lions on Friday. Valley has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Legacy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-9 record this season. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.
Legacy took their victory against the Vikings when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 68-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Legacy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
