It was a Battle of the Birds when West Franklin duked it out with Olpe on Monday. The Falcons walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Eagles. The Falcons' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Zeek Dowd made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Dowd was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gunnar McMahan, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. McMahan is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

West Franklin's record is now 3-0. As for Olpe, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Franklin beat the Eagles by a score of 6-2 later that day.
