Stark County is 1-6 against Bureau Valley since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Rebels will challenge the Storm at 4:30 p.m. Stark County will be strutting in after a win while Bureau Valley will be coming in after a defeat.
Stark County took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Monmouth United 16-1. The high-scoring effort was just what the Rebels needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Brooklynn Ostrowski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Cambri Holmstrom was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Anna Nagode also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Stark County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monmouth United only posted an OBP of .294.
Meanwhile, Bureau Valley has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 4.1 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 10-4 to Annawan-Wethersfield.
Kadyn Haage made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Ali Carrington was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.
Stark County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-12-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Bureau Valley, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-16.
Stark County skirted past Bureau Valley 2-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rebels since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
