The Windermere Wolverines will look to defend their home court on Monday against the South Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Windermere has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against Lake Brantley by a score of 45-33 on Wednesday.
Windermere's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ryen Wood, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Bailey Travis, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Travis continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Ikeda, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, South Lake didn't have too much trouble with The Villages Charter at home on Thursday as they won 65-49.
Windermere's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-10. As for South Lake, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Windermere suffered a grim 55-34 defeat to South Lake in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of South Lake's Anyah Unelus, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds.
