After a string of seven wins, Midfield's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 33-32 to the Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Wildcats are ranked sixth).

Midfield's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Trinity Presbyterian, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3.

Midfield won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Prattville Christian Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Prattville Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Midfield likes a good challenge. As for Trinity Presbyterian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Brewbaker Tech at 3:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
