Knight hasn't had much luck against Lancaster recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Hawks will take on the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. Knight is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
Knight had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Antelope Valley last Thursday. The Hawks' pitchers stepped up to hand the Antelopes a 17-0 shutout. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 11 runs or more this season.

Sierra Gonzalez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Gonzalez was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Victoria Rodriguez, who fired off four stolen bases, three runs, and three doubles while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Desiree Ahumada, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.
Knight was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .793. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Colton typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Lancaster proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Yellowjackets.
Lancaster let Elsy Herrera and Jordyn Zinn run wild. Herrera went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Zinn went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Zinn is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Acosta, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
Knight's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Lancaster, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Knight has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .576. However, it's not like Lancaster struggles in that department as they've averaged .506. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Knight suffered a grim 16-3 defeat to Lancaster when the teams last played back in April. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
