Frontier is 3-0 against the Lumberjacks since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Frontier Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Valley Lumberjacks at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Frontier's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while the Lumberjacks have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Last Saturday, Frontier didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Crusaders, but they still walked away with a 50-44 win. The win was just what Frontier needed coming off of a 48-19 loss in their prior contest.
Frontier's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kelsey Dye led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Knowlton, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Valley came up short against the Rockets on Thursday and fell 50-41. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Valley came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 80th in West Virginia, while the Rockets are ranked 668th in Ohio).
Frontier has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Frontier strolled past the Lumberjacks in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 60-41. Does Frontier have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lumberjacks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
