Basketball Recap: Eagle Ridge Academy Takes a Loss

Eagle Ridge Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Timnath on Friday. The Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors received a blow as they fell 70-53 to the Timnath Cubs. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Eagle Ridge Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ho'Wesl Spotted Elk posted 24 points. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for Spotted Elk. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Morales, who put up ten points and four steals.

Timnath's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Roselle, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. Roselle's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Luke Jacobson was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten assists and five boards.

Eagle Ridge Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Timnath, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Eagle Ridge Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-21 win against Hayden on the 21st. As for Timnath, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 61-33 victory against Pine Bluffs on the 21st.
