Millbrook is 8-2 against Heritage since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Millbrook Wildcats on the road again and play against the Heritage Huskies at 6:15 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Millbrook focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 33 back in December of 2023.
Millbrook's 20-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 56-48 to Hillside. While losing is never fun, Millbrook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 417th, while Hillside is ranked 87th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Aaliyah Graham, who scored 17 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Lucy Ellis was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Heritage's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 42-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cardinal Gibbons.
Millbrook has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Heritage, they bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Millbrook beat Heritage 64-52 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Millbrook since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
