The Logan Grizzlies will be playing at home against the Woods Cross Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Logan will be strutting in after a win while Woods Cross will be coming in after a loss.
Logan had to kick off their season on the road last Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Mountain View by a score of 64-51.
Jordan Child was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Jalen Argyle was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Woods Cross couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 46-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spanish Fork.
Despite their loss, Woods Cross saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hunter Jackson, who scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Ben Smith, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Logan's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Woods Cross, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Logan came up short against Woods Cross in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 61-49. Thankfully for Logan, Jaxon Smith (who scored 29 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
