The Sonora Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Livingston 70-38 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Sonora has managed all season.
Parker Moore was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 24 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Wright, who scored 14 points along with five assists.
Sonora pushed their record up to 6-8 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for Livingston, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Sonora will take on Pitman in a holiday battle at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at. Pitman presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sonora in California (Pitman is ranked 233rd, while Sonora is ranked 819th). Livingston will finish 2023 at home by hosting Le Grand at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
