Make it ten blowout wins for the Bessemer Academy Rebels this season. They put the hurt on Monroe Academy with a sharp 59-34 win on Friday. Winning may never get old, but Bessemer Academy sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
It was another big night for Johnathan Winston, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Garrison Manley was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Bessemer Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1. As for Monroe Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Bessemer Academy will head out on the road to challenge Morgan Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morgan Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 318th, while Bessemer Academy is ranked 70th). Monroe Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
