Empire has gone a perfect 6-0 against St. Augustine Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Ravens will face off against the Wolves at 3:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Empire has six straight victories, St. Augustine Catholic has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Empire came out on top against Tombstone on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run sixth inning. The Ravens put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 19-7 win. Considering the Ravens have won eight games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Elliott Norton was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Empire: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Micah Tiggas, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Zackary Breinlinger, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for St. Augustine Catholic's offense. They came up short against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on Wednesday, falling 17-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Wolves were not able to get on the board.
Empire's record now sits at 12-8. As for St. Augustine Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Empire has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. Augustine Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Empire's way against St. Augustine Catholic in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Empire made off with an 11-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ravens since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
