Even though the Port Gibson Blue Waves have not done well against the Warren Central Vikings recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Port Gibson simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Warren Central 46-14 at home. The team accrued 38 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
Port Gibson was led to victory by Ger'Kiya Flowers and Camara Evans. Flowers scored 12 points along with three steals, while Evans scored 16 points along with six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Flowers has scored at least 25% of Port Gibson's points. Amyah Hedrick was another key contributor, scoring five points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Port Gibson and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Warren Central, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Raymond the next time they take the court. Port Gibson will head out to face Raymond at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Warren Central will host them at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
