The Little River Redskins pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pretty Prairie. Little River was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pretty Prairie apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2022.
Several Redskins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Logan Renken, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Andrew Smith, who scored 12 points.
Even though they lost, Little River smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pretty Prairie only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Leading Pretty Prairie to victory were Evan Young and Gage Bowers. Young scored 14 points along with six rebounds, while Bowers scored 26 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bowers has scored all season.
Little River dropped their record down to 4-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Pretty Prairie, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Little River will take on Burrton at TBD on Saturday. As for Pretty Prairie, Pretty Prairie and Goessel will face off at 4:00 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
