Oakdale (Calif.) had a comfortable lead entering the fourth quarter, but used seven fourth quarter points to seal the 35-12 victory over
Benicia (Calif.).
The Mustangs were up 21-12 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown in the first quarter.
Oakdale expanded its lead to 16 points entering the fourth quarter. OHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Spencer Thomas.
The Panthers'
Ryan Bohnet played well. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
The Mustangs' most effective player was Thomas. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown.
Oakdale went into the matchup giving up only 10.6 points per game. The 12 points that Benicia ended with were well below its average of 29.7 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Benicia, which notched a 27-24 victory over Patterson in its previous outing.
