GASTONIA, N.C. -
Forestview (Gastonia, N.C.) jumped out to an early lead against
Kings Mountain (N.C.) and never looked back on the way to a 49-20 victory on Saturday.
The Jaguars put up 19 points in the opening frame. Forestview scored on a rushing touchdown, a touchdown catch by
Calvin Johnson and a touchdown run by
Montavis Rogers.
FHS was up 39-14 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown catch by Johnson in the first quarter.
The Gastonia school expanded its lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. The Jaguars scored once in the quarter on a
Logan Bradley touchdown pass to
Moe Neal.
Bradley was the top performer for Forestview. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
Dashan Guest played well for the Mountaineers. The junior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 12 on the year.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 21-12 win for FHS.
