The Kenesaw Blue Devils's 17-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were outmatched by Shelton on the road and fell 80-33. Kenesaw has struggled against Shelton recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Kenesaw still got an impressive performance from Blake Steer, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Ryan, who scored 10 points.
Riley Bombeck continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Shelton, scoring 31 points along with 8 assists and 7 rebounds. The match was Bombeck's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ashton Simmons was another key contributor, scoring 28 points.
Kenesaw now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Shelton, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Kenesaw will be playing in front of their home fans against Doniphan-Trumbull at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Doniphan-Trumbull knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Kenesaw likes a good challenge. As for Shelton, they will head out on the road to face off against Red Cloud on Friday.
