Softball Recap: Millersport Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Millersport entered their tilt with Bishop Rosecrans on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Bishops 14-3. The Lakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Kendyl Bonkowski made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ava Blevins was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing seven bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those seven stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Raver, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Millersport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .600 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Millersport's record now sits at 9-2. As for Bishop Rosecrans, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Millersport has already played their next game, a 16-5 win against Berne Union on the 16th. As for Bishop Rosecrans, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 20-3 victory against Harvest Prep on the 15th.
