Two dominant backs in Jayon Harris and Jah Sheppard are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Pasquotank County Panthers will be playing at home against the Martin County Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Pasquotank County 7.7, Martin County 11.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
On Friday, Pasquotank County was just a hair shy of victory and fell 26-25 to Hertford County. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Harris and Ayden Everette. Everette had a great game and rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Harris was balling out in the loss, rushing for 90 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Martin County). They breezed past First Flight to the tune of 63-0 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Gators sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Pasquotank County better keep an eye on Da'Brion Wilson-Hudgins. He was instrumental in Martin County's win, rushing for 91 yards and one TD on only seven carries. Jayden Moore made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Martin County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 357 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Martin County, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kamarion Larry, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Martin County's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Pasquotank County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Pasquotank County has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 242.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Martin County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 314 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
