After flying high against the Poudre Community Academy Warriors last Monday, the Golden View Classical Academy Sentinels came back down to earth. Golden View Classical Academy lost to the Timberwolves at home by a decisive 54-35 margin on Monday. The contest was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but Golden View Classical Academy couldn't quite close it out.
Golden View Classical Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoe Jones, who scored 12 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Gianna Acocella was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six assists and six steals.
Golden View Classical Academy now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Twin Peaks Charter Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Golden View Classical Academy will face off against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (SkyView Academy is ranked 251st, while the Sentinels are ranked 262nd). As for Twin Peaks Charter Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Two Roads Charter School comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
