If the Worthing Colts were riding high off their 48-27 takedown of the Kashmere Fighting Rams last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Worthing took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wheatley on Monday. Worthing has not had much luck with Wheatley recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Leading Wheatley to victory were Autumn Breedlove and Jamie Solomon. Breedlove scored 16 points along with six steals and five assists, while Solomon scored 22 points along with six assists and three steals. Solomon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Da?nasia Parrish, who scored six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Worthing's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Wheatley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-11.
Worthing will head out on the road to square off against North Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wheatley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Scarborough at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Scarborough is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
