The Eureka Loggers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Bernard. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Eureka of the 78-77 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Eureka's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julian Goodman, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Estrada, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Eureka's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for St. Bernard's, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eureka will take on University Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. University Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 608 points over their last nine contests. As for St. Bernard's, they will be playing at home against South Fork at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Fork is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
