The Hope Blue Wave's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They fell 56-43 to Coventry. Hope has not had much luck with Coventry recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Coventry's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Voelker, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 21 rebounds. Voelker is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Broady, who scored 18 points.
Hope dropped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Coventry, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-5.
Hope will head out on the road to challenge Mt. Hope at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coventry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cranston West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
