The Hanover Nighthawks lost against the Delone Catholic Squires back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hanover had to suffer through a rough 49-7 loss at the hands of Delone Catholic. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hanover in their matchups with Delone Catholic: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Hanover had strong showings from Joey Wilkinson, who picked up 90 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Jayden Stanfield, who rushed for 99 yards.
Gage Zimmerman was his usual excellent self, rushing for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Zimmerman really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Dettinburn, who rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Hanover's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Delone Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Hanover will head out on the road to face off against York County Tech at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. York County Tech comes in on a streak of failing to score more than eight points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Delone Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fairfield is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
