The Southeast Golden Buffalo kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bishop Carroll. Southeast lost against Bishop Carroll in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 45-42 score last time.
Southeast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ma'khiyah Jones, who scored 16 points along with 6 rebounds. Alana Webb was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.
Southeast's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Bishop Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Southeast will head out on the road to face off against Kapaun Mt. Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kapaun Mt. Carmel and Southeast are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Bishop Carroll, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against East.
