Willis is 1-8 against the Highlanders since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Willis Wildkats will be playing at home against The Woodlands Highlanders at 5:15 p.m. Willis is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Last Friday, Willis was able to grind out a solid victory over the Panthers, taking the game 40-30. The victory was just what Willis needed coming off of a 50-26 defeat in their prior match.
Meanwhile, The Woodlands' game on Friday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They strolled past College Park with points to spare, taking the game 54-36. The win made it back-to-back wins for The Woodlands.
Willis' victory bumped their record up to 5-24. As for The Woodlands, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-13 record this season.
Willis took a serious blow against the Highlanders when the teams last played back in January, falling 74-21. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of The Woodlands' Aiden Pino, who scored 19 points along with six steals. Now that Willis knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
