The St. Francis Red Raiders are on the road again on Monday and plays The Park School of Buffalo Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on February 12th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
St. Francis struggled with assists on Tuesday (Canisius had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. St. Francis was dealt a 74-41 defeat at the hands of Canisius. While losing is never fun, St. Francis can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while Canisius is ranked 13th).
St. Francis' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of John Meka, jr., who scored ten points, and Tj Askew who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, The Park School of Buffalo's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight defeat. Their rough 72-51 loss to St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute might stick with them for a while. The Park School of Buffalo has not had much luck with St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
St. Francis has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for The Park School of Buffalo, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.
St. Francis was able to grind out a solid victory over The Park School of Buffalo in their previous meeting back in January, winning 60-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Francis since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
