The Colony Knights will head out to take on the Ketchikan Kings at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Colony will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Redington on Wednesday. The Knights blew past the Huskies 13-0. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Emma Minnick was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those doubles were her first of the season.
Minnick wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alli Morrissey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Morrissey has posted since back in May of 2024. Another was Saibree Noll, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Colony always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Redington only posted an OBP of .182.
Meanwhile, Ketchikan faced Sitka in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Kings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Wolves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Kings have posted against the Wolves since May 4, 2024.
Vienna Pahang was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one double. Mylee Gray was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Colony's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ketchikan, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 8-10-1.
Ketchikan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Colony hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .409. It's a different story for Ketchikan, though, as they've only averaged .202. Will they be able to contain Colony's hitters?
Colony skirted past Ketchikan 6-4 in their previous meeting on Saturday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
