Softball Recap: Clay Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Clay had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Eastern Eagles 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 14 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Laney Shepherd was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Lynsey Loop also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Clay lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern didn't launched any home runs.

Clay's record is now 16-8. As for Eastern, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.

Coming up, Clay will host Western at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Eastern, they will head out to square off against Oak Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
