The Pendleton Heights Arabians were the 42-41 winner over the Hamilton Southeastern Royals when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Pendleton Heights took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Royals on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Pendleton Heights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Royals are ranked 12th).
Despite the loss, Pendleton Heights still got an impressive performance from Evan Mozingo, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Sims, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hamilton Southeastern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Donovan Hamilton, who scored 18 points. Braeden Totton was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Pendleton Heights and nudges their season record down to 8-10. As for Hamilton Southeastern, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pendleton Heights and the Tigers will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Yorktown is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season. As for Hamilton Southeastern, they will head out on the road to face off against the Flashes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Franklin Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Friday.
