Softball Recap: Northside's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Northside entered their tilt with Cordova on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Cordova Blue Devils with a sharp 11-1 win. That's two games straight that the Rams have won by exactly ten runs.

Northside got a massive performance out of Haley Lyons, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, Lyons posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Caroline Jones was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Northside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. They are undefeated (4-0) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Northside pushed their record up to 6-4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11 hits in those games compared to only 5.38 in the others. As for Cordova, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Northside will challenge Milton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Northside's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Milton's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cordova, they will welcome Good Hope at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Good Hope will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
