Superior has gone 9-1 against Fort Thomas recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Apaches at 1:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Superior has three straight wins, Fort Thomas has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Superior and Hayden meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 20-6 margin over the Lobos. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by ten runs or more this season.

Superior let Stephanie Lopez and Faith Denogean run wild. Lopez scored four runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Denogean went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave Denogean a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lessenia Ramirez, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5.
Meanwhile, Fort Thomas came up short against Pima on Thursday, falling 24-12. Even if the Apaches couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Jaysla Longstreet and Leilynn Wesley did some serious damage despite the final result: Longstreet scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Wesley scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5. Longstreet also hit two doubles, marking her first of the season. Sadie Harvey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Superior pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Fort Thomas, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Superior has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .480. However, it's not like Fort Thomas struggles in that department as they've averaged .621. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Superior might still be hurting after the 24-17 defeat they got from Fort Thomas in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
