Otis is 9-1 against Peetz since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Peetz will be up against a hot Otis team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went Otis' way against Briggsdale on Tuesday as Otis made off with a 23-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Paxton Davis was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with seven RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Gavin Price was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Meanwhile, while Peetz put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Weldon Valley. Peetz blew past Weldon Valley 10-0. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.
Conner Schumacher made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Schumacher was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Those hits were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Peetz got a massive performance out of Patrick Moreno, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Moreno hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Wagner, who scored a run and stole five bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Peetz always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weldon Valley only posted an OBP of .158.
Otis' victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Peetz, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Otis took their win against Peetz in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 20-0. Will Otis repeat their success, or does Peetz has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
