Given Community Baptist Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Juniata Christian is ranked 628th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community Baptist Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kade Hunt, who scored 16 points. Hunt continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Kendall Williams was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Bridgeport Baptist Academy, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 44-27 to Juniata Christian.
Community Baptist Christian's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Bridgeport Baptist Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
Everything went Community Baptist Christian's way against Bridgeport Baptist Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as Community Baptist Christian made off with a 47-24 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Community Baptist Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
