After flying high against the Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine last Friday, The Tecumseh Braves came back down to earth. Tecumseh was beaten by North Daviess 42-14 on Friday. Tecumseh was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as North Daviess apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
North Daviess was led to victory by Brock Knepp and Coltyn McNabb. Knepp rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, while McNabb gained 294 total yards and three touchdowns. McNabb's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.
Tecumseh's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-1 North Posey and 6-4 Tell City (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62% over those games). As for North Daviess, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5.
Tecumseh does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Daviess will be playing in front of their home fans against Providence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Providence's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
