The Leuzinger Olympians can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Wednesday. They blew past Morningside, posting a 67-36 victory on the road. The victory was nothing new for Leuzinger as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Leuzinger's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Malachi Knight led the charge by scoring 15 points. Knight has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. Raynell Gungon was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Leuzinger is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Morningside, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leuzinger will challenge Inglewood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Inglewood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 491st, while Leuzinger is ranked 227th). As for Morningside, they will head out on the road to face off against Centennial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
