Northview hasn't had much luck against Perrysburg recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yellow Jackets at 5:00 p.m. Northview is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Northview barely beat Southview the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars a 12-0 shutout on Monday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Brooklynn Reinbolt, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Frazee, who went 3-for-4 with four runs and one stolen base.
Northview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Perrysburg didn't have quite enough to beat Clay on Monday and fell 4-3.
Perrysburg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yesenia You, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Perrysburg's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Northview, their victory bumped their record up to 14-6.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Northview hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373. However, it's not like Perrysburg struggles in that department as they've averaged .370. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Northview couldn't quite get it done against Perrysburg in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 7-3. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
