The West Holmes Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They fell 57-50 to Wooster. The result was an unpleasant reminder to West Holmes of the 72-55 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
West Holmes' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Collier Cline, who scored 19 points. That was a full 38% of West Holmes' points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Nate Fair was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Wooster got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brady Bowen out in front who scored 14 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Tre Edwards, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
West Holmes' loss was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Wooster, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
West Holmes will head out on the road to challenge Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wooster, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mansfield Senior at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mansfield Senior has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 246 points over their last four matchups.
