On Tuesday, the New Year welcomed Wichita Christian with a 42-15 whooping from Archer City. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wichita Christian has scored all season.
Archer City found their leader in underclassman Addy Peters, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Peters hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Adelyn Harvey, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Wichita Christian's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Archer City, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wichita Christian is on the road again on Saturday and play against Holy Cross Academy at 11:00 a.m. on January 6th. Holy Cross Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Archer City, they will head out on the road to face off against Windthorst at 1:15 p.m. on Friday. Windthorst presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Archer City in Texas (Windthorst is ranked 266th, while Archer City is ranked 1006th).
