If the Longmont Trojans were feeling good off their 60-23 takedown of the Mountain View Mountain Lions on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Longmont took a 53-39 bruising from Thomas Jefferson on Thursday. Longmont found out winning isn't easy when your three-point shooting is a whole 37% worse than the opposition.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joey Foot, who scored 10 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Lombrano, who scored 5 points along with 3 steals.
Thomas Jefferson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shane Curry out in front who scored 12 points. Owen Alleman was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 3 blocks.
Longmont's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Thomas Jefferson, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Longmont won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cheyenne Mountain at 3:30 p.m. on December 1st. As for Thomas Jefferson, they will square off against Palmer at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Palmer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday.
