The Yutan Chieftains entered their tilt with the Tekamah-Herman Tigers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Yutan blew past Tekamah-Herman, posting a 56-6 win on the road. With Yutan ahead 49-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Yutan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Derek Wacker out in front who gained 174 total yards. Jesse Kult also helped out as he racked up 124 rushing yards.
When it comes to explaining why Tekamah-Herman lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Spencer Pagels. Despite the final result, he rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown. Pagels really tore up the turf during one magnificent 76-yard run.
Yutan's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 David City and 1-8 Tekamah-Herman (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 22.2% over those games). As for Tekamah-Herman, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Yutan will head out on the road to face off against St. Cecilia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Cecilia is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Tekamah-Herman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
