The Davis Darts put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 48-29 victory over Woods Cross. Given Davis' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while Woods Cross is ranked 54th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Davis had a senior duo take command as Kate Richards scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals and Kendra Kitchen scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Kitchen has scored at least 25% of Davis' points. T'Maea Eteuati was another key contributor, scoring 2 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Woods Cross had strong showings from Mari Nichols, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals, and Avery Poulton, who scored 6 points along with 3 blocks. Nichols is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Woods Cross struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Davis racked up ten.
Davis' win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Woods Cross, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Davis will head out on the road to face off against Timpview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Timpview will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Woods Cross, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hunter at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th.
