The Cole Valley Christian Chargers will be playing at home against the North Star Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cole Valley Christian has eight straight victories, North Star has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
New Plymouth typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Cole Valley Christian proved too difficult a challenge. They managed a 52-48 victory over the Pilgrims.
Meanwhile, North Star ended up a good deal behind Marsing on Wednesday and lost 57-38. North Star has not had much luck with Marsing recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, North Star got a solid performance out of Blake Hansen, who scored 20 points along with two steals. Hansen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Milt Pettit, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
Cole Valley Christian pushed their record up to 14-1 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for North Star, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
Everything came up roses for Cole Valley Christian against North Star in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 61-18 win. With Cole Valley Christian ahead 31-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
