Adding to the longest winning streak in III Section I this week, Peoria beat Cactus 28-21. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
Sunrise Mountain took down Browne 60-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Chase Cord threw for 292 yards and 5 touchdowns and ran for 73 yards in the win.
The Mustangs' dynamic duo of Cord and Nick Haleman proved tough for the Bruins to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Corey Brown helped Sunrise Mountain's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 77 yards.
Antonio Moore was a key player and the best on defense this week as Sunrise Mountain beat Browne. The 5-foot-8 defensive back pulled down 1 interception and recorded 1 fumble.
